7 Speeds and Pull-Chain Less!
While replacing the old fan due to a broken pull chain, I decided to get a fan speed control switch. This is exactly what I was looking for, as I have a switch for the light and fan, and most switches these days have both combined into one switch.
This switch is great as it gives you 7 fan speeds, which allows you to a more perfect fan speed than just the regular 3 speed fan switches.
The switch allows you to adjust the fan speed manually but pressing up or down on the side button. The switch is also a push button, which turns the fan off and back on to the last-used setting. You can also push and hold the switch to automatically bring the fan to full speed instead of manually clicking through the 7 speeds. When off the switch also has a dim led that lights up the last used speed so you won't be wondering what speed it will go to when turning on.
The switch was easy to install, and adding the canopy module was no extra work since I was replacing...
Nice....Near Perfect!
The more I use this control, the better I like it! The high speed on my fan moves so much air that the noise bothers me. I wanted more than three speeds, especially a medium-high speed. With this control, I still find myself wanting a speed between the highest and second highest. The lowest and second lowest speeds are almost identical, and very slow. I would gladly sacrifice one or both of those super slow speeds for more flexibility at the other end. I just may be Knit Picking. On the Plus side: There is a speed or two here between the typical "medium" and "high" on most three speed controls. The Seven speeds here are a lot nicer than just three.
The wall control is very elegant, and user friendly. It is the same design as my light dimmers. Easy to install.
Like others have mentioned, getting the module to fit into the canopy can be a real bear! I had to stuff most of the wiring up into the electrical box above the fan to get the module to fit into...
Just what I needed!
Works just as described. I can now run both my ceiling fans in my shop from one switch and location without having to play around with 2 switches in seperate locations since the fans are on either sides of the shop.
